Lyrics - Make It Right
Friday 01 May 2015 LyricsLyrics
“Make It Right” is the song from the album that I had never played to an audience before! It was a gamble as to whether I should include it on the album since it was so fresh to me and I felt like I was still getting to know it. But now I am so glad that I did.
I wrote the first part of the lyrics for this in January 2014 when we were in the mountains in Poland and were walking by the light of the moon, along the crest of a mountain between Poland and the Czech Republic. I had never known the moon to be so bright; it created the perfect light for our midnight walk and set the scene for a song that I would write months later. This song is about a couple who are fighting to save their relationship...
Do you remember when we walked by the light of the moon,
Dancing with our silver shadows, falling into holes and hollows,
We walked towards the north star, it didn’t look that far,
Guided by a light that seems so steady but never stays still.
Let’s walk again my love,
Let’s find a starry night, hold hands and not fight,
Maybe the moon will make it right,
Maybe the moon will make it right.
Do you remember when we wrote our dreams on serviettes,.
A coffee stain next to a daring danger master plan,
Our pens were magic wands that cast out spells of building beams,
And built before our eyes pathways to castles and jewels.
Let’s dream again my love,
Let’s find the perfect night, hold hands and not fight,
Maybe the sun will make it right,
Maybe the sun will make it right.
And we search, and we dig through the snow,
There’s fight in us yet.
Pushing earnest, muscles gaining as we sweat.
And the golden thread betwixt us thrums with all the loving invested in it.
Glowing brighter, fixing tighter, that’s my knight, oh that’s my fighter,
Let’s walk again my love,
Let’s find a starry night, hold hands and not fight,
Oh you always know how to make it right,
One humble step to make it right.
In forgiving rain you make it right ,
Oh it soaks me through and makes it right.
