Blues.

There is something on my mind.
There is something demanding my time.
And I know I have to let go of my pride,
Before I can do the thing I know is right.

There is something on my mind,
An image painted before my hungry eyes.
And I hear it calling to me, standing there waving its big bright sign,
Until it becomes all that I can see, so why do I seem so completely blind?

Every step that I take towards it, I’m forced two dozen back,
And I’m stopped in my tracks, my legs turn to lead,
And I’m dead in the water no further towards that old place I’m supposed to be.
